A Nashville hospital has prohibited Halloween costumes that are "ethnic" or political and has mandated "diversity training" for all of its employees because three employees portrayed President Obama in police custody and in a straightjacket.
Apparently, according to this hospital, any negative portrayal of President Obama is ethnic in nature and suggests a lack of diversity awareness. It does not matter that many Americans believe President Obama should be arrested. The only thing that matters is the President's ethnicity, as if that portrayal had anything at all to do with ethnicity.
The portrayal won third place at the party.
This is not a First Amendment case because the hospital is a private corporation and not the government, but it is perhaps the most egregious example to date of political correctness regarding this President run amok. Furthermore, some are questioning whether the hospital may have feared retribution from this punitive White House that has shown a willingness to go after people that challenge the President. The IRS/Tea Party situation is one such example. If leaders cannot be criticized without the criticizer facing retribution, the risk of government tyranny increases exponentially.
