Free spay/neutering for feral cats Feb. 18th

The Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter is offering to perform 30 free spay/neutering on February 18th to help stem the population of feral cats locally. In addition, they will also offer rabies vaccinations, flea medication and left ear tipping on a first come/first serve basis. Appointments required.

The cats must be brought to the Shelter at 3320 Beltagh Ave., Wantagh, NY. In addition, officials suggest that residents should also ask the trap-neuter release coordinator for detailed information on admission and discharge of “fixed” animals and transportation for cats being brought to and from the facility.

“I urge all interested caretakers to take advantage of this convenient opportunity,” commented shelter director Cynthia Iacopella.

For more information, as well as to schedule an appointment, please call the Shelter’s TNR coordinator Steven Reichert at 516 785-5220 ext. 4630.
