During the annual Winter Trails day this Saturday, all ages can try snowshoeing or cross-country skiing free at dozens of venues throughout North America. Here in Colorado you can try these sports at Devil's Thumb Ranch, Keystone Nordic Center and Echo Lake.
Devil's Thumb Ranch is putting on Winter Trails Learn to Ski Day and Colorado Free Kids Day -- free group lesson, equipment and trail pass for any child 12 and under.
Keystone Nordic Center is offering a free Snowshoe Eco Hike.
REI is sponsoring the event at Echo Lake State Park.
The Estes Park Winter Festival, January 15, is a free snowshoe festival with hundreds of demo snowshoes for adults and children, guided hikes, snow activities, outdoor gear displays and free giveaways.
