Free screening of 'Future Folk' and live concert in Dallas

The historic Kessler Theater in Oak Cliff announced today that a screening of THE HISTORY OF FUTURE FOLK and a live performances from the stars themselves will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 5 at 7:00 P.M. The concept behind this alien folk duo sci-fi action romance comedy film is that the space aliens come to Earth and are enchanted with our music and evolve into "two Blue-grass loving aliens".

The Oak Cliff Film Festival kicks off on Thursday evening at the Texas Theater for opening night with a new film produced by SAILOR BEAR / Toby Halbrooks, James Johnston and David Lowery, with director in attendance. Award-winning filmmaker, Robert Camina, has been wrapped up in post-production on his hotly anticipated documentary UPSTAIRS INFERNO. This riveting story reviews a horrific attack by an arsonist in New Orleans in the early 1970's targeting an LGBT nightclub which resulted in a staggeringly high death count. Thursday evening will be busy at the Angelika Film Center as USA Film Festival hosts a screening of the documentary LA BARE based upon the club of the same name in Dallas. The hit film MAGIC MIKE was based on the reality that makes up La Bare and in attendance will be several of the entertainers as well as director/producer Joe Manganiello and producer Nick Manganiello.
