The de Young Museum located in Golden Gate Park is offering a wide array of classes for all age levels. Currently they are offering free Saturday classes that tour the “permanent collections and current exhibitions ... followed by studio workshops taught by professional artist-teachers.” The program, one of many, hopes to foster a love and appreciation for the arts in young children.
The Saturday classes are broken into two age groups. Children “4 to 6 attend Big Kids/Little Kids, and children 7 through 12 attend Doing and Viewing Art.”
Please note that all children under 8 must have a parent or guardian present during the class. The classes run from 10:30 a.m.-noon each Saturday, but sign-in is requested 15 minutes prior to the beginning for the class. You can check the “online calendar to confirm” or to browse the other art classes, workshops and events taking place at the museum. You can contact the museum for more information at e-mail elewmorris@famsf.org or by phone at 415.750.3658.
