Free restaurant start-up offered in Catskill

Did you know "Catskill Is Cooking"?

That's the title of a project involving a downtown restaurant recruitment project that will wind up with someone winning a turnkey restaurant operation in the Catskills community.

A panel of local judges will review local submissions from local restaurateurs or would-be restaurateurs containing their business concept, menu, and resume. The panel then will chose a group of contestants to compete in a tasting event on Main Street this summer. The winner will receives a restaurant on Main Street with 3 to 6 months rent paid by the Catskill Local Development Corporation (LDC).

The LDC also help the winner develop a business plan and find funding from county resources. In addition, the judges will serve as mentors to the new restaurant owner. Prospective applicants can obtain full details from the LDC.
