Free PDF: Backyard Forest Stewardship

If your home is in the woods, there is a free resource you might want to download.

‘Backyard Forest Stewardship in Eastern Washington’, put together by Washington State University Extension and funded by the USDA Forest Service, is 21 pages of information on identifying problems and setting goals, tree health (disease, insects, parasites), thinning and pruning, weeds, hazard trees, plant selection and establishment, wildlife and wildlife habitat (understory material, nest boxes and bird feeders), streams and wetlands, wildlife, fire prevention and resources.
