Getting "the word" out about New York State wines only works when sellers join winemakers and wine-centric organziations to call attention to vintages that sometimes go virtually unnoticed in their own regions.
Thus, the 3rd annual NYS Wine Tasting at the Exit 9 Wine & Liquor Warehouse in Clifton Park, Saratoga County.
"Why travel the world to discover great wines ... when the best are right here. Uncork New York," is the advertising push for the free public event (must be 21 or older), scheduled for 2 to 7 p.m. this Friday, November, November 6.
An added incentive is that 25% of all sales of New York wines that day will be donated to Special Olympics of New York.
The wine merchant promises "hundreds of the best Riesling, Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, Gewürztraminers and Cabernets from more than 20 New York State wineries."
The establishment is located just off Exit 9 of the Adirondack Northway (I-87) in The Crossings shopping complex at Routes 9 and 146.
