Best-selling authors Ken Follett, Scott Turow, Isabelle Allende, and Jonathan Franzen are among more than 70 top writers at the free 10th annual National Book Festival September 25 on The Mall.
President Barak Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are Honorary Chairs of the festival, “A Decade of Words and Wonder”, sponsored by the Library of Congress.
Festival-goers can meet and hear from their favorite authors, get books signed, have photos taken with PBS storybook characters, and participate in a variety of learning activities.
Writers in the event also include:
• Katherine Paterson, Jules Feiffer, Judith Viorst, and Pat Mora are among the writers for children.
• History and Biography writers David McGrath Morris, David Remnick, Steven V. Roberts, and Evan Thomas.
• Elizabeth Kostova, author of the worldwide sensations “The Historian” and “The Swan Thieves”.
• National Book Award winner Julia Glass.
• Rae Armantrout, winner of this year’s Pulitzer Prize for poetry.
• Jane Smiley, Gail Godwin, Allegra Goodman, Jonathan Safran Foer, and many more.
The event, free and open to the public, will run from 10 AM to 5:30 PM September 25 on Washington's National Mall.
