Summer is finally here so take advantage of the warm weather by spending your Fridays watching a movie under the stars.

Thornton A. Sullivan Park at Silver Lake is hosting five family-friendly fun nights. Each Friday begins with pre-show entertainment at 7:30 p.m. followed by an outdoor movie played on a giant 15 foot screen.

Families can make it an all-day adventure by spending the day at the park before the movie. There are multiple trails to explore and plenty of area for the kiddos to run off excess energy. Pack a lunch and enjoy an old fashion picnic.

The swimming area is also great fun and is staffed with life guards from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Labor Day. There is plenty of parking spots and well-kept public restrooms.

Summer activities: Get the kids off the couch and outside!
