Thursdays are free movie nights at Santikos Bijou at the Wonderland of the Americas. This month the movies being shown are John Hughes’ most popular movies from the 80s.

September 4 – The Breakfast Club
This coming of age comedy-drama stars Anthony Michael Hall, Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy as high school students who spend a Saturday together in detention. They each represent a high school clique and once they get to know each other they come to realize they are more than their stereotypes and actually have things in common.

September 11 – Weird Science
Anthony Michael Hall and IIan Mitchell-Smith star as two high school nerds who decide to create the “perfect” woman on their home computer. She turns out to be a beautiful woman who has superhuman abilities and is totally devoted to them and helps them deal with their everyday teenage problems.

September 18 – Pretty In Pink
Molly Ringwald stars as high school senior Andie Walsh in this romantic comedy-drama about love and high school cliques. She comes from a working class family and develops a crush on one of the rich preppy boys in her school. When they try to get together it causes conflict in their respective social circles.

September 25 - Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
High school senior Ferris Bueller decides to skip school and spend the day in downtown Chicago. Together with his girlfriend and best friend they manage to dodge his sister, his parents and the school dean. He continuously breaks the fourth wall by addressing the audience by speaking to the camera.
