With the decline in America’s kids health being outside and being active has never been more important to many parents. There are over 300 “Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day” events being held on the first Saturday in October and having one so close to us is a great chance to try something new with your children. Valmont Bike Park has 40-acres of different surfaces for riding and four miles of trails and is a free community park that you can take your children to at anytime, or take a few hours to release your inner outdoor enthusiast. This park caters to all levels and provides a controlled environment for people to learn, have fun and push their limits.
Last year I started to add biking into my exercise regime and love the feeling of being outdoors in this beautiful Colorado weather biking down a trail. I have not yet been brave enough to venture off the numerous bike paths offered within the Denver/Metro area but it looks like it is time to pack up my bike, my kids and their bikes and experience something new this weekend! Hope to see you there!
