Free money for opening a checking account

See also

There are a good number of banks who are looking to give you free money. All they want is to establish a relationship with you by helping you take care of your money.

Many of them will offer you cash for opening a checking account. On that note, let’s talk about some of the possible requirements they may ask you to meet in order to receive their bonus.

Initial deposit

Make sure that you have some money to open the account with. No bank is looking to give away free money without a commitment from you involving your money. A good amount to deposit is around $100 if possible, or at least $25.

Online bill pay

The bank may ask you to pay a bill or more online in order to receive the free money bonus. Whenever you pay a bill through a bank’s online bill paying system, the bank receives the publicity.

Daily or monthly balance

You may be required to maintain a certain amount of money each day or a 30 day average. This shows the bank your commitment and helps you to see why they want to give you the free money.

Additional accounts

The bank may require you to open a specific savings account or more when opening your checking account. Once again, this is just another way for the bank to establish a relationship with you beyond the checking account itself.
