Free lift ticket at Sacramento Ski & Snowboard Festival this weekend

There should be a dusting of snow today in the Lake Tahoe region, which is great news for anyone planning on a trip to the slopes for skiing or snowboarding. Both Heavenly and Northstar-at-Tahoe ski resorts opened Friday, while several more Lake Tahoe resorts are expected to open for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

To get in the ski/ride mood, perhaps a visit to this weekend’s Sacramento Ski & Snowboard Festival is a good idea. The festival takes place Nov. 19-20 at Cal Expo Fairgrounds (1600 Exposition Blvd.) and will offer something for all ages. Co-sponsored by SkiDazzle.com and SnowBomb.com, the event will kickoff the winter season for Sacramento-area skiers and snowboarders.

Tickets cost $15 for anyone age 13 or older and includes a free lift ticket and discount card. Children 12-under are free. Tickets are available online at www.SacSnow.com and also at the Cal Expo Fairgrounds Box Office. The show goes from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
