Looking for some family fun to entertain the kiddos on “Battle of Flowers” Friday? The tour for the new computer animated film, “Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return,” makes a rare stop in San Antonio this Friday, one of only nine stops on its entire itinerary.
Opening in theaters on May 9th, “Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return” follows young Dorothy’s journey after her original adventure. It seems Dorothy’s (voiced by Lea Michele of “Glee”) time with Aunt Em back in Kansas is very brief, as she is soon summoned back to Oz by her old pals the Scarecrow (Dan Ackroyd), the Lion (Jim Belushi), and the Tin Man (Kelsey Grammer). Oz, unfortunately, was not fully saved from the power of darkness with the Wicked Witch’s demise, and now the Wicked Witch of the West’s powerful evil brother, the Jester (Martin Short), wishes to cast darkness over the entire magical land. Dorothy meets and enlists more new friends, including Wiser the Owl (Oliver Platt), and faces daunting personal challenges in order to attempt to defeat the Jester and remove his grip over Emerald City.
The event today will include free crafts and activities for the family including meeting Dorothy and Wiser the Owl, reading time with Dorothy, exploring the Tin Man’s Friendship Club/Scarecrow’s Workshop/and Lion’s “Mane” Stage, and finding out more about the “Legends of Oz” at iPad stations.
The “Legends of Oz” express tour is free today, Friday, April 25th, from 1-6pm at the Alamodome Lot C.
