Free 'Kids Workshops' at Home Depot: Fun projects to take home

Did you know that Home Depot has more to offer than selling you tools, equipment and supplies for your home and garden? Yes, that's right, they offer 100% free workshops for the kiddos! Not only is the class free, but so are the materials and your child gets to take something they created home with them afterward. This little gem has been around for awhile now and is quite popular for those who know about it, but not everyone does. Here's the scoop to start taking your little one to these free hands-on guided workshops to make fun projects for home or the great outdoors.

Adults and kids working together to make a project

The free kids workshops at Home Depot occur every Saturday of the month at 9am and registration is required. That's at least 4 workshops a month that you get to choose from and they all occur on a day that your kid is off from school, which is a bonus for kids over 5. The classes are open for kids ages 5-12 but they will not turn away a child under 5- they just ask that you give them extra guidance to complete their project. Children get to create by hand their very own birdhouse, bug catcher, fire truck, Mother's Day gift, toolboxes and a lot more cool projects. Kids also will get an orange apron to wear, just like the Home Depot workers, as well as a pin of achievement.

To see a list of upcoming workshops with timeslots open, and to register, visit their page and be sure to check back often for new projects so you can be the first to get on the list. Activities occur year round.
