On Sunday, July 4, 2010, active and retired military personnel with valid ID will receive free admission to the Kansas City Zoo. Families of active and retired military individuals will receive $1 off regular admission.

Every Saturday in July, Crown Center has free puppet shows.

Save $1 on tickets to the KC Riverfest this weekend if you buy your tickets online.

Tonight at 7:00 p.m., the renowned USAF of Mid-America Band, the Shades of Blue Jazz Ensemble performs big band jazz and patriotic selections at the Rotary Park at Railroad Lake in Blue Springs.

Free popsicles will be distributed July 6 and 13 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Crackerneck Park in Independence.
