Free iPhone apps worth getting today include a major update to the free iPhone music streaming app, “Spotify”, as iPhone 6 leaked images reveal a new design, according to a April 1 report in “The Times of India”.

For the first time since 2008, the free music streaming app, “Spotify” has a new interface, complete with new icons and fonts, which make this app appear like the web and desktop versions of “Spotify”. Besides a new interface, this free update has a new “Playlists” section for organizing tracks in new ways and a new “Browse” feature, along with an advanced suggestions feature. “Spotify” is the fourth most popular free music streaming service, just behind “iTunes Radio”.

A new set of images of the upcoming iPhone 6 has been posted on the Chinese microblogging site “Weibo”, apparently by an insider working at Foxconn, the big Apple supplier of iPhones and iPads. The photos show a thin iPhone with rounded edges (like the edges on the iPad Air) and a protruding camera lens (like the camera in the iPod Touch). An image of a blueprint is also included, but without the size of the device. Many sources indicate that iPhone 6 will come in two sizes, 4.7-inches and 5.5-inches. Earlier this month a Japanese magazine, which mentions these iPhone sizes, also suggests that the iPhone 6 will be bezel-free (that is, the screen will have an edge to edge design). Like its predecessors, the iPhone 6 will have an improved processor and an upgraded camera too.

Going free today is the app “Briefcase Pro” (Reg. $4.99), which is an all-in-one document reader and manager. With this app you can import PC/Mac files, email attachments and files in “Photo Album”, “Google Drive”, “OneDrive” (formally “SkyDrive”),“Dropbox” and “Box”--turning your iPhone into a wireless flash drive. Plus you can view and manage Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, Keynote, Pages and Numbers files and image files. You can also playback media files and share all your files with friends.

The awesome app “Warm Gun” (Reg. 99 cents) is free today too. This 3D game with the Unreal Engine 3 has console-like graphics. In this app game you can either play online multiplayer action or play solo as you fight to stay alive.

“Spotify” is rated 12+ for references to drug, tobacco and alcohol use, mature themes, sexual content and profanity. This free app requires iOS 6.0+, is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch and is optimized for iPhone 5.

“Briefcase Pro – file manager, cloud drive, document & PDF reader” requires iOS 6.0+, is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch and is optimized for iPhone 5.

“Warm Gun” is rated 9+ for violence and supports Game Center. This free app requires iOS 4.0+ and is compatible with iPhone 3GS+ iPad+, iPod Touch (3G+) and is optimized for iPhone 5.
