Top free iPhone apps for downloading today include a free Santa Tracker, while a children's app developer just released Friday a digital Walkie Talkie for kids, according to a Dec 20 report in AppCraver.

“Piig Talk” lets children push a button to talk to friends and family (who also download this iPhone app) in real time on the same Wi-Fi network. Children can also push-to-talk to talk to characters Leon and Lila—as well as hear their own voices. This free iPhone app sports a cute child-friendly interface and there are no in-app purchases.

A big app deal has “Yoga for Back Pain Relief” (Reg. $4.99) going free today. This free iPhone app (compatible with iPad and iPod Touch) provides structured yoga exercises to reduce back pain. These poses also stress the correct breathing method.

Trending popular today is “Talking Santa Carl”, which is going free today too (Reg. 99 cents). Children can talk to—and play with—Santa Carl as they make a Christmas list and send it to the real Santa. Boys and girls can also send Christmas cards and movies to family and friends through this free app.

The free Santa Tracker, “Where is Santa Lite-Santa Tracker” is running very popular too. Using the latest Elf technology, this app pinpoints Santa's location anywhere in the world and allows users to follow Santa's every more (not just on Christmas Eve). What's more, this sophisticated Elf technology estimates how long it will take to get to your location with a countdown timer.

Running really hot in popularity today is the flaming vertical climber “The Blocks Cometh”. In this free app (Reg. $1.99), you help Blockman and his friends run, jump, shoot, dodge and climb as fast as they can to avoid falling blocks.

“Piig Talk” is in the App Store's Education category. This free app requires iOS 5.0+, is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch and is optimized for iPhone 5.
