The free iPad, iPhone apps worth downloading this weekend start with a free iPad, iPhone app,“The Dambusters” (regularly $2.99) as reports circulate that Apple is bringing a new multitasking to iOS 8 for iPad and iPhone, according to a May 15 report in “CBS News." iOS 8 is a new operating system for the iPad, iPhone operating system that Apple will probably unveil on June 2.

The free app “The Dambusters” is a 3D game based on a real World War II mission. Just like the real mission, players can only use 19 bombers (each caring one bomb) to fly through the Netherlands and western Germany, penetrate their air defenses and destroy three dams. This app contains varying levels of difficulty.

iOS 8 will bring true multitasking to the iPad, iPhone. Currently, users can switch between apps but not work in two apps simultaneously. Under the new iOS 8 multitasking design, users can have a split-screen with two apps open at the same time. Plus there will be improvements to Apple Maps which will incorporate features that Apple recently purchased, like the leading transit service HopStop.

“Zombie Fish Tank" is popular in downloads today. This app is regularly 99 cents but free for today for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. In "Zombie Fish Tank" a fish returns from the dead to take revenge on all the monstrosities created by scientists in their laboratory’s fish tank. This free iPad, iPhone app has 40 different levels.

The free iPad, iPhone app “Godzilla – Smash 3” is also becoming super-hot in downloads. This game mixes stunning 3D action with challenging puzzles as players see Godzilla smash his way through cities worldwide in 80 levels. In this app, there are power boosts to conquer objectives and release Godzilla's deadly Atomic Breath.

If you need to print a document from your iPad, you will notice that your iPad is configured by default to use “AirPrint." “AirPrint” works well if you have an “AirPrint” capable printer. But if you do not, there are other apps available that do a similar job. One of these apps is “PrintCentral” (regularly $4.99), which is free to download today. This free iPhone, iPad app (that also works with iPod touch) lets you print wirelessly over a Wi-Fi, 3G or LTE network.

“The Dambusters” requires iOS 6.0 or later. This free app is compatible with iPad and iPhone and is iPhone 5 optimized. iPod touch has insufficient RAM to run this free app.

“Zombie Fish Tank” is rated 12 or higher for violence and references to drug, alcohol and tobacco use. This free app requires iOS 5.0 or later, is compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and is iPhone 5 optimized.

“Godzilla – Smash 3” is rated 12 or higher for violence. This free app requires iOS 6.0 or later, is compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and is iPhone 5 optimized.

“PrintCentral for iPhone/iPod touch” requires iOS 5.0 or later. This free app is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch and is iPhone 5 optimized.
