Memorial Day weekend is just around the corner, and in Fort Wayne, that means the Red Cross is mounting a blood drive before the summer season starts. Even though blood is sorely needed during the summer, donations decrease because people are vacationing and schools and colleges are not in session.
To help shore up the blood supplies before summer, Culver's Butterburgers and Frozen Custard, K105 FM and 97.3WFEE are teaming up with the Red Cross and sponsoring one of the most popular blood drives of the year. If you donate blood at either of the Red Cross blood donation centers from May 24 through May 29, you will receive a coupon for a free pint of frozen custard from Culvers.
In addition, On Monday, May 24, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., 97.3 WMEE radio station will broadcast live from the Fort Wayne Donor Center on Monday May 24, and K105 will broadcast live from the Lutheran Hospital Donor Center on Wednesday, May 26.
