With summer in full swing, maybe all you really want to think about are sunny days and the beach, but the beginning of the school year will be here sooner than any of us can or want to believe and if you still haven’t figured out what to do about for your children for school next year or wonder exactly how to homeschool, read on.
Lucky for you, there are tons of others who have been through it before and even though every child is an individual, unique in so many ways, there are some basic things that are the same for everyone. I remember all too well the overwhelmed feeling when I started my homeschool journey with a lot of curriculum and there is now even more curriculum and social opportunities, especially in Santa Clarita, than when I started. I would love to help you sort through it and let you know about all the resources available to you as a new homeschooler.
Do you have questions about whether homeschooling is legal, what a charter school is, what kinds of philosophies people follow, what kinds of curriculum there are available, how to meet other homeschoolers, what to do if you are not an expert in a certain field, but you need your child to learn about it? What if you hate Math or Writing? Can you homeschool while working?
Feel free to let all your friends know and come ask your questions. There will be a general overview of homeschooling, whether it's legal, all the different options you have available and different philosophies. Then it will be open for all your questions as well. The meetings usually go for about 1 ½.
The next free homeschooling/hybrid schooling information meeting at Twinkle Twice in Newhall (22942 Lyons Ave, Newhall, CA 91321) this Thursday, July 26, 2014 at 4pm.
We hope to see you there!
