Join Sprout Nourishment for a month of watching free movies online. The event consists of you watching a health, nutrition, or exercise related movie each week. Note that the movies are generally online and free. Afterwards there is discussions about what you liked or disliked about each movie. The movies scheduled this month include: Food Inc (2008), Killer at Large (2008), Food Fight (2012), and War on Health (2012). The schedule is below.
For the week of March 1-7, watch Food Inc. This movie is an unflattering look inside America's corporate controlled food industry. The production of food overall has more drastically changed in the last 40 years than the several thousand years prior. Controlled primarily by a handful of multinational corporations, the global food production has become big business. The business is to make money and not make healthy products.
Between March 8-14, watch Killer at Large, which is an overview of the politics, social effects and problems associated with the rising epidemic of American obesity.
Watch Food Fight between March 15-21. This film is a fascinating look at how American agricultural policy and food culture developed in the 20th century, and how the California food movement rebelled against big agribusiness to launch the local organic food movement.
The final movie to watch from March 22-28 is War on Health. This film explores the position of the FDA and it's role in the current medical paradigm, the current health crisis, and looks at possibilities for a healthier, more holistic health system.
It's so important to make sure you educate yourself about your own health and not just trust anyone (or corporation) that has something to sell you. So join the event today on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/386055701531657/?ref=5
