Drive only 45 minutes south of Fresno and reach the small oasis of Hanford California. One reaches Hanford from taking Highway 99 South and then exiting at Highway 43/Selma/Hanford and continuing. This town boasts a multitude of areas to get a great workout. Start by parking at the free lot at the intersection of Highway 43 and 10th Avenue. From here stretch in the grassed park area. Then jog along the sidewalk down 10th Avenue for a nice warm up. Continue to Kensington Avenue on your jog and turn right on Leland and the onto Kensington. You can then go to the Washington School campus and use the monkey bars for pull ups to enjoy a great upper body workout.
Continue on Kensington back to Cortner where you turn right and you will cross Douty Street. Take and continue until you reach Monroe Elementary. Here you can get more of an upper body exercise doing a second round of exercise. Then continue and reach Hidden Valley Park. All along the parkway are exercise stations with a large wooden panel giving directions on how to do the exercise. The associated equipment is right next to the instruction panels so you do not need to bring anything but yourself. Remember there is equipment on both sides of the gate and all the equipment is numbered so you can ensure you do not miss any of the equipment.
When you finish you can go down the road and enjoy some healthy snacks from the Save Mart fruit section or deli proud of a successful and almost free workout.
