April is Autism Awareness Month…

Autism is not a subject that is discussed often, but affects one in seven boys. Adventure Cuts in Carlsbad has decided to bring attention to Autism in a fun and positive way.

On Saturday April 10th, 2010, Adventure Cuts is having Character day to support Autism!

Any child who has Autism will receive a FREE hair cut from a friendly stylist decked out in costumes ranging from Darth Vader to Alice in Wonderland. In addition to airbrush tattoos and refreshments, everyone is entered into a raffle for FREE services that include an awesome birthday party ($300.00 value)!

The main focus of the day is to raise money for the Autism Research Institute Center of San Diego a portion of all sales will go towards this organization. Until this condition is curable, it shouldn’t be ignored.

As one of the owners, Paris, puts it, “Many parents avoid haircuts due to the hypersensitive issues these children can have. We have trained our staff to be specialists interacting with children with special needs to provide a safe, fun and compassionate environment. We pride ourselves on the ability to make parents and children feel comfortable.”
