The first 200 cars to pull up to the pumps at a BP station in Auburn Hills, Mich., will receive $20 of gasoline at no charge. The promotion is being offered by Cornerstone Community Financial Credit Union as part of a national “Take Back Your Banking” campaign by credit unions and community banks.
Those taking advantage of the promotion will receive full service from credit union staffers who will pump the gas.
The promotion begins at 9 a.m. and will last for the first 200 cars only, but no later than 11 a.m. The BP station is located at 2813 University Drive.
Credit unions and community banks have been on the offensive as the larger national banks have been finding creative ways to charge fees to their customers. Credit Unions typically have very few fees and often offer ways to waive those fees based on specific activities such as referring other customer. Community Banks also have fewer or no fees.
