Free garden workshop in southern Vermont

May is for planting here in Vermont. Soil preparation is the first step in planning a successful garden. In this hands-on workshop we will be learning to shape, cut, desod, amend, and double dig a new garden. We will also do some basic layout and planting. We will not be using rototillers or any other machinery. We will be learning all of the fundamentals using hand tools. This information is useful whether you are interested in planting a vegetable, annual, or perennial garden. Good garden soil is NECESSARY for a successful garden. This workshop will take place at Evernest in Jamaica, Vermont and is being taught by landscape architect and long-time gardener, Erica Bowman.
