If you are one of the furloughed employees dealing with government shutdown 2013, then you will probably be looking for a good deal and possibly having some money problems. On Oct. 1, news came out that several places are offering free meals to these employees to help them out.
Sprinkles is offering free cupcakes. Z-Burger is offering a free burger to employees without work. As one person put it, it just helps to know that people care and are willing to do this for you. Z-Burger said that by a little after noon today they had already given out over 300 burgers. They were just asking for your government I.D. to prove that you are an employee. Maggiano’s Little Italy is also offering a free entree to take home if you buy one.
DC Eater shared a huge list of the best places to drink during the government shutdown. Several places are offering a percentage off of drinks or specials to make them cheaper.
