Children love Halloween. They love the costumes, the trick or treating, the decorations and, of course, the candy. But parents also have some free consumables to look forward to this year, according to a USA Today story published on October 29, 2013.
The free item this Halloween isn’t candy, it is food, and it is being served by national chains located in cities across the United States. Here is a list of well- known restaurants offering free food on October 31, 2013 or at some other time during the week:
Darden’s: This family of restaurants includes Olive Garden, Red Lobster, and Longhorn Steakhouse, each of which plans to offer a free kid’s meal with the purchase of an adult’s meal. No costume is required and the offer is good all week, but parents need to consult the web sites or Facebook page in order to sign up and retrieve a coupon.
IHOP: The restaurant that gained fame for its pancakes is offering a free Halloween pancake to kids age 12 and under. The pancake is decorated in candy corn and other sweet treats. This offer is on Halloween only and requires no costume.
Krispy Kreme: A favorite pit stop for the sugar- deprived, Krispy Kreme is offering a free donut to everyone who walks through its doors on Halloween. Guests must be wearing a costume to relieve their sugar and dough craving.
Chipotle: On Halloween day, starting at 4 p.m. all the way to close, Chipotle will offer a budget deal on its Boo- rito salad, order of Tacos, or Burrito Bowl. The cost will be only $3 each, but you must be wearing a costume to take advantage.
