As my kids love the Museum of Science & Industry, we were lucky to receive a family membership from the grandparents for Christmas. Even better, for the month of February, kids (ages 3-11) receive FREE MUSEUM ENTRY all month! It is up to four free child tickets allowed with the purchase of one full paying adult.

There is so much with the basic exhibits at the MSI from the seeing lightening strikes or playing with a tornado. They have a fantastic train section including a miniature of Chicago. My kids also love seeing the section about the human body, planes, cars, and downstairs, they have a fantastic kids section where they can play with building blocks, water works, and more.

If you're looking to pay a bit more for extra tickets, they have IMAX films and special exhibits. One of the current special exhibits is Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives, presented by D23: The Official Disney Fan Club. You can explore nine decades of marvelous Disney innovation and history; see drawings, props, costumes and artwork from famed Disney films and television shows; and even learn to draw a favorite Disney character in the Animation Academy!

They have indoor parking or if you just go one more exit past the MSI off of Lake Shore, there is metered parking behind the museum. Or even better, if you decide that you enjoyed your visit that much and splurge on a membership, parking is now included in membership.
