Free Family Movie Programs for Las Vegas Locals from November to December 2011

This November 2011, Las Vegas locals can check out a number of alternative film programs where they can watch free family movies and enjoy the company of friends and family members. These live-action and animation works coming from different genres are scheduled in selected weekdays and weekends of the month. Sponsored by the city government, they are primarily meant as family bonding and educational offerings for Clark County residents.

"Malcolm Movie Madness!" Program

The Malcolm Library presents the family-friendly movie "Ramona and Beezus" on Thursday, Nov. 10, for its "Malcolm Movie Madness!" program. Screening starts at 4:00 p.m. and ends at 5:45 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring some snacks during the event.

"Picnic and a Movie" Series

The Paseo Verde Library invites families and friends to the "Picnic and a Movie" event on Monday, Nov. 14, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This happens at the library's conference room. Guests can bring picnic dinners and enjoy their meals, while watching the selected family movie for the program.

The Green Valley Library provides another "Picnic and a Movie" offering on Wednesday, Nov. 16. This features a special movie selection from the library. The screening is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the library's program room.

"Sunday Movie Matinee" Program

The Sunrise Library showcases the superhero movie "Captain America: The First Avenger" for its "Sunday Movie Matinee" program on Nov. 13. This happens at the library's auditorium from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The Sunrise Library invites teens, adults, and seniors to the special screening of "Super 8" on Nov. 27. This happens at the library's auditorium from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

"Lunchtime Family Movie Matinee" Series

The Summerlin Library features the award-winning 2009 animated film "Up" for its "Lunchtime Family Movie Matinee" Series on Wednesday, Nov. 16, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Families and friends are encouraged to bring picnic lunches or snacks, while enjoying the free screening at the library's conference room.
