Looking for a fun way to cool off this Saturday, July 31st? Grab your swimsuits and head to Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park at 87th and Lackman in Lenexa, Kansas, for this year's FREE Waterfest, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Kansas City families can check out over 30 booths and water-themed activities, including “paddle boats, canoeing, cane-pole fishing, waterslides, wacky water games, moonwalks, Lenexa Fire Department Deluge and more.”
Visit every booth to fill out your “passport” and earn a chance to win prizes. Entertainers/educators at Waterfest 2010 include Operation Wildlife, the Ernie Miller Nature Center, the Kansas City Zoo's Zoomobile, and a local band, The Ruskin Quartet.
Free hot dogs, courtesy of Hy-Vee, will be available for the first 1500 people who attend Waterfest. Remember to bring a reusable container to fill (and refill) with drinking water.
