Free family Christmas activities in Boston that involve history: part two

When the holiday draws near in Boston, historical places often have celebrations or display decor for the citizens and visitors of the city. Many of these events and places to visit cost money. However, many do not and are great for the entire family. If you do decided to go see a paying show with the family, make sure "The Nutcracker" really is "The Nutcracker" because Boston does have its fair share of "not for family fun" around Christmas as well.

Attend Christmas Eve Church Services

Boston is full of historic churches. Some of these churches do not hold public services on Christmas Eve, but many of them do. The Old North Church, Old South Church, Trinity Church and Park Street Church each offer services to all the evening before Christmas. Each church has its own denomination and manner of celebrating, so it is prudent to view the churches' websites before choosing which ones to visit for the holiday services. These churches are all part of historic Boston, some dating back to before the American Revolution. Be sure to take in some of the history while enjoying the services these churches have to offer.
