Free Family Admission to Cranbrook with Food Donation

This coming weekend, July 14 and 15, families that donate 10 pounds of food or more get a free family admission to Cranbrook Institute of Science. The program is being held with Gleaners, in its www.RaiseARex.com, which is to feed hungry children during summer vacation.

The types of food that Gleaners are looking for are:

  • Cereal bars
  • Canned fruit
  • Baby formula
  • Canned pasta
  • Pancake/baking mixes
  • Rice or noodles
  • Oatmeal or cereal
  • Tuna fish
  • Peanut butter
  • Hearty soups

Remember donations cannot be opened, expired, homemade or in glass containers.

To save even more money, consider buying food at dollar stores, discount stores like Aldi and Save-a-Lot, or store brands for the supermarket. If you find shopping too much hassle, know that a donation of $10 to Gleaners Food Bank will also get you a family admission.

If you just want to go alone, you can donate five pounds of food or $5.
