Kids Vision Fest
Get the vision screening taken cared of at this FREE event with free vision screenings for children of all ages. When children cannot see well, they cannot learn effectively. Imagine a child in school eager to learn, but unable to see the chalkboard or clearly read the words in a book or on a computer screen. Research shows that without proper vision care, these children may face lifelong struggles with literacy, low self-esteem, unemployment, poverty and crime.
Panel Discussion and News Conference
Also, in an effort to “connect the dots” between vision care, literacy and their effects on society and the economy, a panel discussion/news conference will be held at 10 a.m. featuring:
- Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley
- Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price
- Tarrant County College Chancellor Erma Johnson Hadley
- Everman ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jeri Pfeifer
- Dr. Anthony Borgognoni.
After the panel, some of the speakers will tour Kids Vision Fest. Dr. Pfeifer, whose Everman school district has been involved in the Kids Vision Life program for over two years, is particularly passionate about the importance of getting glasses on kids at an early age because she’s seen the positive effects it has on a child both academically and socially.
Date, Time and Location
10 – 10:25 a.m. Panel discussion/news conference in the Energy Auditorium, located on the 4th Floor TRTR4008.
11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Kids Vision Fest continues for the general public - First Come, First Served
