Free education resources from Alabama Public Television for homeschoolers

Alabama Public Televisions offers many resources for teachers and they, unlike many State agencies, include homeschool teachers within that category.   You can review 3 sample resources without registration and will then be prompted to complete a free registration process for continued access.

This teacher resource site is called APTPlus and offers over 16,000 resources from articles, to videos, to audio, to interactive media.  Subjects covered include arts, English, physical fitness, health, math, science, social studies, preschool, and even professional development classes.

Lessons can be searched by grade level, subject, and language.  In addition to English, some resources are available in Spanish, French, and Navajo.  Lessons vary in detail but many include full lesson plans with activity ideas, questions to ask, and more than one video to go with the lessons.

The digital library section covers a wide variety of topics to interest homeschoolers, including video profiles of many state organizations and places such as the Alabama Wildlife Center here in the Birmingham area a Oak Mountain State Park.
