On the Santa Monica Beach September 28, 2013 the free dusk-and-beyond event, Glow will return, and celebrate the art of light. Glow is a project of the City of Santa Monica and the Santa Monica Arts, with several celebrated international, national and local artists in the art of light; this will be the third installment of an event that had an attendance of over 200,000 in 2008 and 150,000 people in 2010.
This is the nation’s only nighttime arts celebration focused exclusively on original artwork. From 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. Glow will have 15 site specific, interactive art projects to illuminate Santa Monica’s pier and beach. Organizers expect over 150,000 people to attend this year’s event, making Glow one of the largest public art events in the world.
