Free divorce on Valentine's Day! Forget the chocolates and flowers. One lawyer is offering up a free divorce for Valentine's Day contest to a "lucky couple," according to a report posted at The Daily Mail.
Southfield Michigan attorney, Walter Bentley says he is doing the promotion to help unhappy couples move on from their relationship. Bentley says interested couples should give a 'compelling and convincing' statement detailing why they should win the free divorce for Valentine's Day contest.
Bentley says the winners "won't have to take out their wallet for anything. All the hearings, all the paperwork. I will pay all the fees and expenses, to the end. What they're getting would ordinarily cost them $1,500 to $3,000."
He says the contest is still open, but limited to couples living in the Michigan area. The deadline for entry is 11:59 p.m. on February 12.
"Some Valentine's day gifts last longer than chocolate," says Bentley.
