Diabetes affects more than 29 million people in the United States alone. The World Health Organization (WHO) predicts that will be at least 350 million people in the world with type 2 diabetes by the year 2030. WHO suggests that people need to be screened for diabetes on a regular basis. Sam’s Club Pharmacy agrees.
Sam’s Club Pharmacy will host free diabetes screenings to both members and non-members on Saturday, 13 September 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The screenings, valued at $250, include tests for: A1C blood test, glucose, total Cholesterol, risk ratio, blood pressure, body fat percentage, and vision.
“There is clearly a need to offer people an easy and accessible way to detect diabetes early on,” said Jill Turner-Mitchael, senior vice president, Sam’s Club Health and Wellness. “We are committed to offering solutions like this screening as a way to encourage people to take control of their health and to learn information that can be very valuable in getting them to their long-term health goals.”
