The Dallas Opera continues its community commitment by bringing the beauty and excitement of opera to metroplex families. This season TDO performs 'Doctor Miracle': a delightful one-hour comic opera sung in English. Mistaken identity is a major part of the plot. A lovesick couple attempts to outwit the rich Mayor who forbids his daughter to marry beneath her status. The talented tenor Zach Hess plays three hilarious parts.
'Doctor Miracle' will be performed live this Saturday at NorthPark in the Dillard’s Court located on Level One, November 5th at 2:00 pm. Starring four outstanding young opera talents: Julie Marx (Laurette), Julie Ann Dieltz (Veronica), Njabulo Mthimkhulu (The Mayor) and Zach Hess (Silvio/Pasquin/Doctor Miracle). This performance is free and open to the public. Children of all ages have chance to enjoy this light romantic comedy.
Georges Bizet composed his charming and zany opera when he was only 18 years old. Bizet is most famous for his opera 'Carmen', however his 'Doctor Miracle' is the perfect introduction to opera. The fun part is finding out whether true love finds a way or if all the disguises backfire. Don’t miss this fun filled opera.
