Valentines Day is rapidly approaching, whether we're ready for it or not, so here's a few patterns that you can make for your sweethearts!
Quick and simple: This Crochet Edged Heart combines simple crochet with recycling - reusing an old card to make a new one!
This Heart can serve as the gift, but also makes a nice doily.
Already have a treat for that someone, but need a way to package it? These cute little Valentine Envelopes are just the thing.
Intermediate Crochet: This Heart Wreath is a two parter, really - you can make the base with rug yarn or recycled plastic bags in order to make it stiff, so that it hangs properly and doesn't require starching.
It's still cold outside in February - how about showing someone you love them with this warm and cozy Heart Scarf?
For the Kids: a sweet, cuddly Valentine Mouse could be just the thing!
A Heart Shaped Purse might also catch their eye.
Mouse not your kid's thing? How about a Valentine Puppy?
Filet Crochet: A quick and easy I Heart U Bookmark could be just the thing for your favorite book fan.
The Bigger Projects: Both of these patterns are considered intermediate, but what you need the most of for these is TIME! These are projects you have to commit to now in order to have them done for your favorite Valentine.
This Hearts Tablecloth is lovely - all lacy and and pretty; an excellent idea for weddings as well.
Fat free but fun - a Crocheted Box of Valentine "Chocolates" might be just the right gift. Easy, but lots of pieces!
This Floral Fantasy Heart is one I've downloaded to try myself; it looks like a challenge. I'd love to see anyone's finished work if you should choose this project!
My Favorite Pattern That I Modified: I found this Heart Pattern last year myself, and I modified it. I made the hearts bigger, added safety eyes, and well as arms and legs! You can improvise any sort of arms and legs you want for this pattern, like I did in the picture above, or you can stick with the original. All that matters is that you have fun!
As always, these patterns are all FREE, but please DO respect the designer's wishes as to how the pattern is used.
Enjoy, and Happy Valentine's Day!
