According to a Feb. 23 report in “All App News”, Fox Digital Entertainment has just released the “Skyfall Gun Barrel” app in the App Store. This must app for James Bond fans lets you appear in the gun barrel sequence at the start of most “James Bond” films.
If you've seen at least one “James Bond” film, you've probably seen the opening gun sequence. It's where you see (through the barrel of a gun) Bond walking, turning and firing at the gun that you're looking through. Blood then trickles down the screen and the “James Bond Theme” begins playing. Of course, Bond isn't shooting at you, he's firing at the person holding the gun.
This app keeps the gun barrel, trickling blood and the “James Bond Theme”, but replaces Bond with you. To use it, just open the app, aim at the target that you want to appear in the barrel and shoot. Tap View to see how it came out. If you want, you can tap Share to share it with all your Facebook friends. Free.
“Skyfall” is up for 5 Oscars tomorrow night: Best Original Song, Best Sound Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Sound Mixing and Best Original Score.
Also, a really free cool app that was $4.99, is now free. It's called “Pottery HD”. When you open this app, you see a hunk of clay spinning on a Potter's Wheel. Just like with real clay on a Potter's Wheel, you move your fingers along the side of the clay (or across its surface) to bring the clay into shape. When your clay has become a jar, for example, you tap Fire and the jar you made is fired in a kiln. You can then decorate your work with paint or ornaments. If you want, you can sell your work for coins. Then you can use these coins to buy more supplies.
Besides creating your own ceramics, you can also go on quests. Either way, its all very relaxing and enjoyable. Check the slide show! Free.
