Jennifer Lopez will play Orchard Beach in Pelham Bay Parkway in the Bronx in what is a homecoming for the Bronx native and designed to highlight the Puerto Rican pride festivals that happen throughout the city this week ending the massive Puerto Rican day Parade, Sunday June 8th. There is a big caveat 25,000 free tickets have already been given out and Orchard Beach is on City Island there will be massive overcrowding coming from the 6 train last stop in the Bronx, Pelham Bay Parkway and taking bus or car to the lone bridge. Read more about that here.
Janelle Monae on the other hand is the first act to start off the annual Celebrate Brooklyn summer concert series at Prospect Park's bandshell. The bandshell is located off 4th Street and Prospect Park West. To get there take the F or G train to Prospect Park/15st or take the 2,3 trains to Grand Army Plaza and walk a few short blocks. The doors will open @ 6:30 for the 8pm show.
So there you have it folks, try to get your hands on a J Lo ticket or come visit Janelle Monae at Prospect Park but expect great shows either way.
