Free coffee Friday at Detroit Starbucks

Grab a free tall coffee this Friday at the new Starbucks in downtown Detroit. The giveaway is to celebrate the grand opening of the shop in the Ernst & Young building at One Kennedy Square.

The free coffee will be available between 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and can be taken as either an iced or hot beverage only at the new location on the ground floor of the Ernest & Young building.

This is the second Starbucks to open in the Motor City since the chain contracted six years ago. Last week a store opened inside the Meijer on 8 Mile at Woodward. That store has had its grand opening and is not participating in the Friday giveaway.

Downtown Detroit is experiencing a resurgence as large employers continue to relocate there and Campus Martius draws crowds. Many new residential buildings have also been added as the downtown portion of the city rebounds.
