Free class on hydroponic gardening set for June 22 in Coppell

A no-cost class on hydroponic gardening will be offered by Keep Coppell Beautiful from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 22 at the W.T. Cozby Library, 177 Heartz Rd. in Coppell. Registration is not required.

Hydroponics is an age-old method of growing plants in water. It was practiced in ancient Central America, the Middle East, and India and can be adapted to almost any climate and budget. It is an excellent substitute for traditional gardening space is limited.

The class will be taught by Steve Elliott. He and his wife Cat own Elliott Grows Inc., a commercial hydroponics farm that includes a 30' by 95' greenhouse with the capacity to grow 5,300 plants, The pair recently purchased a 10-acre property that is being transformed into an organic farm.
