Free Christmas songs from iTunes worth downloading now include eight Christmas classics like “The Christmas Song” by Kool and the Gang, according to a Dec. 4 report in MacLife.

“The Christmas Song” is one of eight free Christmas songs in a free “Holiday Cheer” playlist that Apple iTunes is giving away to celebrate the season. The other seven Christmas songs are:

  • “Ava Maria” by IL Volo

  • “Children Go Where I Send Thee” by Nik Lowe

  • “Duck the Halls” by The Robertsons

  • “Joy to the World” by Celtic Woman

  • “Silent Night” by Kelly Clarkson

  • “The First Noel” by Mary J. Blige

  • “What Child is This” by Marvin Sapp

To download your eight free Christmas songs, just open your free “Apple Store” app on your iPhone (These free songs don't appear on the iPad version of the “Apple Store” app), scroll down and tap “Holiday Cheer” > “Download now for free” and “Continue”. Sign it to iTunes and tap “Redeem”. To listen to these songs, just close the “Apple Store” app, tap the Music icon, then “Songs” and you'll see these free eight Christmas songs in your song inventory.

If you don't have the “Apple App Store” app on your iPhone, you can download it at the App Store.

When Apple announced on Wednesday that it's giving away these Christmas songs for free, Apple also noted that these free Christmas songs are subject to availability. But who ever heard of digital inventory running out? Nevertheless, users can only download these Christmas songs until Dec. 31.
