Intergenerational theater is a great way to bring together people of diverse ages to produce a meaningful and memorable Christmas pageant or play. It connects the past, present and future in a God honoring way while blending talents, focusing energy and engaging experience.
If you do nursing or retirement home ministries consider doing After Christmas Stars. Many groups and organizations do special things for nursing home and assisted living residents before the holiday. Then there is that terrible after Christmas slump for the residents. Depression, winter blues set in and the death rate sharply increases. This short play can be done to pick up their spirits and if done as reader's theater requires very little preparation.
