Christmas baking delights not just the palate but the nose as well with the aroma of “sugar and spice and everything nice”. Nativity plays provide the sight and sounds of Christmas in contrast to the secular version of the “happy holidays.”
- Promised Children, Promised Child - Starting with Adam and Eve, the script traces Jesus’ lineage and prophesies about his coming. It includes some of the “black sheep” ancestors of the Lamb of God mentioned in the Matthew and Luke genealogies and Hebrews 11 and shows the fulfillment of God’s promises in the birth of Christ. An invitation is extended to believers and seekers at the finale. Songs and video can be added. Cast: 23, doubling and tripling possible plus choir. Run time: 45 minutes minimum, songs added will increase length.
- Jasmine's Christmas Star - Teenaged Jasmine, granddaughter of one of the Magi, decides she’s going to disguise herself and join the caravan following the star of Bethlehem, dragging childhood companion Meshach into another one of her “hare brained” schemes. Meanwhile King Herod takes extreme measures to protect his throne from a rival king. Characters: 12 M, 3 F, as many extras as desired Run Time: 2 acts, 45 min.
- Three selections from Betsy Strain
