The first-run family film to be shown at AMC's Sensory Friendly Films series on Saturday, November 9, 2013 is Free Birds. This animated movie is about some turkeys who travel back in time to try to change the first Thanksgiving. Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson lead the star-filled cast of voices through this feathery adventure.

Sensory Friendly Films are offered nationwide at select AMC Theatres. The admission price is reduced and all shows start at 10 am local time. The house lights are left up and the sound is kept on the low side to make special needs kids and their families more comfortable. Audience members are allowed to walk around and it's okay to bring in special dietary snacks. These screenings are a great way for families with special needs kids to have an outing where everyone can be included.

Do you have a favorite family outing that works for your clan? Let me know about it!
