"In order for our children to be truly prepared for school they must be healthy and have the appropriate supplies. We are proud to make both health screenings and basic school supplies available to our community," said Virginia A. Caine, M.D., director, Marion County Health Department in a press release.
The July 31 event will offer families access to:
- Free back to school immunizations
- Health screenings
- Dental screenings
- Free and reduced price health insurance enrollment
- Back to school supplies
- Health information
Parents who need a birth certificate to enroll their child in school can purchase the document while at the event.

I hope people take advantage of this!
I will have to look into seeing if anyone in our area is doing this.
All states should do this, public schools want this done and not everyone has insurance or can offered to have it done.
Great news for families in the Indianapolis area. I hope they take advantage of it.
Great help for parents; it gets so expensive going back to school. I am going to check in my area.
Great info! :)
Always great info concerning children! I LOVE the idea of putting the Google map up! Would you mind if I used your map idea if I ever needed it? :)
Hi Fran,
Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you liked the map. You won't be stealing any ideas if you use it. Google maps is there for everyone to use, not just me. Thanks for asking, though. It shows real class.
What a great thing to offer for families that are having difficulties - all states should offer this. Good article.

What a great savings this is and offer to and from the community.
Great article- Thanks!
I see you already have a lot of comments, but...this was a good and informative article. This is great that the kids can get help with school supplies, immunization, etc. I think the food, entertainment, etc. will be fun for the kids and their families.
Also, if you have a chance, tell me how you put in the google map. I see it is not a screen print. LynneLehmer public transit/travel Examiner
Hi Lynne,
Thank you for commenting. The map is very easy. Go to maps.google.com and search for your location. Once you have found your destination, click on the Link option in the upper right corner. A drop down box will give you the HTML code to use for embedding an interactive map.
